What you need to know to apply for Industrial Allocation

How to apply

1. Check if you can get an allocation

See the Eligible industrial activities page. People or organisations carrying out activities listed here can apply for an allocation. As new activities are made eligible they will be added to this page.

2. Understand the requirements

It’s important that you read What you need to know before applying for industrial allocation before applying. This contains information about the process, eligibility requirements, application types, deadlines, record-keeping requirements, unincorporated bodies and penalties.

3. Complete the online form

To apply for industrial allocation, you must complete the form here: Application for allocation of NZUs: Eligible industrial activities.

Calculating your entitlement

Calculators are available to help you work out your allocation – these can also be accessed from the application form. See How does industrial allocation work? for an explanation of the formula and inputs.

The completed form MUST be submitted online by the deadline. There is no provision in the Act for accepting late applications.
