Pre-1990 Forest Land Allocation Plan (Consultation Draft)
The consultation draft (MAF website) has been released for the Pre-1990 Forest Land Allocation Plan. A submission form is attached to the draft or you may make an online submission.
This consultation draft supersedes the Draft Forestry Allocation Plan that was released for public comment in October 2008 and where supported by Government, incorporates feedback received then.
The consultation draft reflects changes to the forestry allocation provisions of the Climate Change Response Act 2002 that are being considered by a Select Committee as part of the Climate Change Response (Moderated Emissions Trading) Amendment Bill introduced into Parliament on 24 September 2009.
The consultation draft is seeking feedback on the following issues:
- Who should receive any allocation of units where property has recently changed hands?
- When a change in shareholding of a property should constitute a change in ownership, and how to determine when ownership was transferred?
- What information and recordkeeping requirements should be under the allocation plan?
