Summary of Actions:

Action:
Once the Review of the Scoping Report for an Environmental Assessment of the of the New Zealand Emissions Trading Scheme and Closely Related Measures is completed by the Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment, Dr Jan Wright, the Emissions Trading Group is to circulate it to the Forum.

Action:
Cluster B to report back on leakage case studies:

  • Leakage case studies
  • Economic modelling
  • Cost benefit analysis of phase out of free allocation
  • Intensity within a cap
  • Stationary Energy and Industrial processes TAG report back

Action:
Any additional comments on the ten messages are to be sent to the Chair, or to Jess Patten, secretariat to the Forum. The messages will be made public and sent to the Minister and Finance and Expenditure Select Committee once finalised.

Action:
Business Opportunities and positives arising from the ETS, along with ETS will be the priority topics for the meeting on 28 May.
